Forecast Discussion

A region of high pressure will continue to move into the region today before shifting east overnight tonight. Wednesday will allow for warmer conditions, mainly due to a deepening East Coast trough and local height rises and warm air advection. Moisture and rain will work back into the region Thursday through Saturday. Locally heavy rainfall and flooding is possible in flood-prone areas. This rainfall over through the weekend may break the record for yearly rainfall, making 2018 the wettest year on record for Athens County.
