Forecast Discussion

The clipper system that dropped just over an inch in Athens yesterday has moved out of the area, making way for bitterly cold lows for the next few nights heading into the weekend. Lows will be in the low to mid single digits approaching zero especially tonight and tomorrow night. Temperatures rebound slightly on Thursday into the mid to upper thirties, but a disturbance on Friday could potentially yield some snow showers. The conditions until Friday will remain clear as a high pressure system moves through behind the clipper system, allowing for some sunshine at times and very little wind. Roads may still be slick on Tuesday morning into the early afternoon due to rapid freezing of some of the melted snow that we received yesterday when temperatures shortly crept above freezing.
