Forecast Discussion

An area of soaking rain overnight has moved east of the region. A shower or two is still possible early this morning as some moisture exists behind the large area of precipitation. The main story today will be the gusty winds due to a tightened pressure gradient. Sunshine will make its way back into the region by the afternoon. An area of surface high pressure will bring dry weather Tuesday night before another system approaches the region Wednesday. The system will be moisture deprived, but given the favorable set-up of right entrance region dynamics of a jet streak, a few showers are possible on Wednesday. A dry day is in store on Thursday before another system brings widespread rain to the region on Friday. The coldest air since last winter will likely build over Southeast Ohio this weekend.
