Forecast Discussion

An occluded low pressure system is currently tracking through the Midwest region, which will provide chances for showers and storms through Tuesday night, with rain likely ending by Wednesday morning after a cold frontal passage. The heavier cloud coverage will help reduce daytime highs to around 80 Tuesday and Wednesday. By Wednesday afternoon, the low will have drifted further to the northeast, with a high pressure system out of the west taking its place. Cooler temperatures will accompany this high pressure system to start, but we will be put into a warming trend heading into the weekend as a weak ridging pattern builds in the upper-levels. The next chance for rain will come on Saturday as a short-wave trough moves over our region.
