Forecast Discussion

High pressure over the area keeps the region dry for most of the day today. Temperatures will still be cold as we only reach the mid 30’s. A shortwave trough moves through the region Thursday providing enough energy for snowfall to be possible as temperatures will be in the mid 20’s. Expect accumulations for most of the region to be around 1 inch. On Friday, precipitation in the form of a rain/snow mix will be in the region as highs will reach the lower 40’s.  There will be a brief break in the precipitation Friday night into Saturday before the most of the region begins to warm up. Rain showers will be possible late into the weekend before moving out into the day on Sunday as the warm up continues.
