Forecast Discussion

A very strong high-pressure system has set up over the Appalachian region. This strong high pressure has brought us sunny skies and dry weather for most of this week, as well as a slight warming trend. We will continue to see this pattern through tomorrow during the day, before clouds start to move in ahead of an approaching low-pressure system from the central U.S. which will bring chances for rain starting tomorrow after midnight.

To close out the weekend and start the work week, the system’s occluded front will drop our daytime high down into the low 40s, and then a secondary cold front as the system passes to our east will bring the daytime high down to the mid-30s with brisk overnight lows. Chances for rain thankfully taper off by Tuesday, but the region will see rather frigid temperatures. Overall though, nice weather for today and tomorrow to close out finals week…Good luck Bobcats!
