Today will be mostly dry as we continue to sit under upper-level ridging. Afternoon temperatures will slowly climb into the 50s. Overnight, widespread rain showers are expected from an upper-level shortwave moving over the region. These showers will become shorter and more scattered, heading into the afternoon and overnight hours. By Sunday afternoon, minor high pressure will fill in, allowing for some dry conditions, but by Christmas, another low-pressure system will enter the region and bring more widespread showers that will persist into Tuesday as well. Unfortunately, temperatures will remain too warm, so a white Christmas is not expected, just a wet one.
