Today will be hot, though not as humid, with a high of 89 degrees. A slim chance of an isolated shower or storm is in the area in the morning, but any chances of precipitation will exclusively be in the morning. Skies will be partly cloudy throughout most of today, with winds 5 to 10 mph from the west. Pressure will slightly rise following yesterday’s storms, but not to a considerable degree, as another system approaches from the west. Partly cloudy conditions will linger past midnight, but become thicker in cover by the morning hours. Temperatures will drop to 66 degrees, and winds will be calm, making for a pleasant night.

Saturday, the sun will rise on cloudy skies, which will persist throughout most of the day. Temperatures will reach a high of 88 degrees, and humidity will return as a cold front draws closer. A shortwave trough embedded within a broader longwave pattern combined with a surface low will push this cold front into the region by the late afternoon/early evening, bringing with it a line of thunderstorms. Some hail and gusty winds are possible with these storms, though chances for severe weather are somewhat marginal. A few showers may pop up in the area before midnight, but following this front, skies will remain cloudy and temperatures will drop to 66 degrees overnight. Winds will shift to be from the south to the west as the front passes, remaining at around 5-10 mph. For the rest of the weekend, calmer weather is expected Sunday, but another system bringing chances for scattered thunderstorms will roll in to start off the working week. However, conditions will mellow for a time once more afterwards.
