Today, a stationary front that had moved south of us overnight will continue to bring rain throughout the day. A Flood Watch is currently in effect for southeast Ohio, due to the potential for localized flash flooding as a result of heavy rain. Expect a relatively constant rainfall, with occasional, brief breaks, with totals by the evening hours around half an inch. Today’s high of 51 degrees will be an unpleasant drop from the warmer conditions experienced yesterday. Winds will be between 5-10 mph from the northeast. As the day continues, the stationary front will push even further south, allowing for a brief periods of no rain, but a deepening low pressure from the southwest will bring another round of rain through Friday night into Saturday morning as it approaches. The leading warm front will have passed through the area during the late hours of Friday, but this second round comes from the cold front as it pushes eastward, bringing around a quarter of an inch or greater of rainfall overnight. Temperatures will hit a low of 46 degrees before midnight, and will rise as the night continues.

By sunrise on Saturday, a few lingering showers are possible, but will quickly clear out as the morning progresses. Partly cloudy conditions will be present throughout the day, with temperatures rising to above 70 degrees. However, it will be very windy Saturday, and southwesterly winds will peak in the early afternoon at almost 30 mph, with gusts reaching as high as 50 mph. By the evening, however, winds will begin to die down as they shift to a more westerly direction, and will continue to drop in intensity overnight. Pressure will begin to build again into the early morning of Sunday, and temperatures will reach a low of a chilly 34 degrees.
