Rainy and windy conditions are expected to start us off this week. As a large, maturing mid-latitude cyclone moves over the region today and into tomorrow, southerly winds will carry warm, moist air into Athens. This will provide enough moisture to allow rain to develop Today and tomorrow. Unfortunately, the frigid temperatures will make a comeback this week as a cold front and trough pass over Ohio later this week. Because of the abundance of moisture present, the cold temperatures will bring the chance for some rain-snow mix on Wednesday. By Thursday and Friday high-pressure is expected to return, bringing back sunny skies and pleasant conditions.
