A warming trend to our temperatures is expected in the short term forecast. After a chilly morning today, increasing sunshine will bring temperatures up into the high 50s. Along with the warmth, some blustery westerly winds at 10-15 mph can be expected with gusts up to 20 mph. The clear skies will allow all this warmth to radiate away, however, bringing temperatures down to the chilly high 20s tonight. Winds will calm down with it. Friday will also be quite warm and sunny with highs in the high 50s once again. 5-10 mph Southerly winds may help to increase temperatures. A chance of scattered showers is expected Friday night. The clouds will trap in the day’s heat this time, keeping temperatures mild in the mid-40s.

The extended forecast has some pretty extreme shifts in store as a powerful low-pressure system will sweep through the area during this timeframe. Very strong southerly winds upwards of 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph will be possible on Wednesday. Daytime heating paired with the strong southerly winds bringing in warm air from the south will bring temperatures up above 70. With a low around 60 Wednesday night. On Thursday the storm will move through with rain, and possibly some thunderstorms, with highs in the mid 60s. A very strong cold front will trail behind the storm system, dropping temperatures back down to the 30s as highs and 20s as lows for the foreseeable future.
