Forecast Discussion

A pocket of high pressure brings us dry, uneventful conditions for Valentine’s Day. However, overnight temperatures do still drop below freezing. Clear skies and cool temperatures are expected through Tuesday, but there is a temperature rise on Wednesday, allowing areas to see temperatures in the 60s. A frontal passage on Thursday brings heavy rain and even an isolated thunderstorm, and with overnight temperatures nearing the freezing point through the end of the week, a flash freeze is a valid concern as this system advances. Flooding will be common in the area. Once this system pushes eastward, conditions are expected to dry back up with the presence of another pocket of high pressure.
