An upper-level trough will linger throughout the New Year’s Day bringing a chance for rain and snow. There is a chance of snow showers in the morning before transitioning to a rain/snow mix towards the late morning and early afternoon hours. Chances for snow will taper off as the evening progresses and high-pressure settles in for Tuesday. However, high-pressure won’t stay for long as it moves out Wednesday and zonal flow is present. It is until Wednesday night into Thursday when a weak cold front will move through. As a result, there is a slight chance of snow showers occurring. Once the cold front moves through, high-pressure will return on Friday as clouds begin to clear a bit.
