Forecast Discussion

Hazardous Weather Outlook

A weak trough will remain over the eastern U.S. through Tuesday with a shortwave moving through today and tonight. This can bring a chance for showers and thunderstorms, but nothing severe. Temperatures will reach the mid-80s with lows tonight in the mid-60s. Tuesday will reach the upper-80s with drier conditions. Heading into the rest of the work week, an upper-level ridge will progress eastward associated with a high-pressure system. This will make temperatures climb into the low to mid-90s under dry and sunny conditions. Dewpoint temperatures will reach the low-70s on Thursday and Friday which will bring muggy conditions to the area bringing heat indices to the triple digits. According to the Hazardous Weather Outlook, a heat advisory may need to be issued for those two days. Due to the muggy conditions, a stray afternoon pop-up shower or thunderstorm is possible for Thursday. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids and limit any strenuous outdoor activities.
