Forecast Discussion
The Ohio Valley will be entering downstream from a ridge which will provide subsidence and pleasant conditions for the majority of the week. High-pressure will settle in Monday through Thursday before it moves out on Friday. During this period, there will be mostly sunny conditions with temperatures near normal for this time of year in the mid to upper-80s. Winds will be fairly calm tonight with some northwesterly flow over the next couple of days. There is a slight chance for rain showers Thursday night into Friday, but that all depends on the track of the low-pressure system in Canada and the low-pressure system located in the Plains. There is a chance the rain could be further south and miss Athens entirely. However, the system will bring a weak cold front along with it that will move through Friday morning. Another low-pressure system will begin to form in the northern Rockies and will begin to increase rain chances for the weekend.
