Forecast Discussion
This Monday morning will be a muggy and foggy one as a moist air mass lingers from the previous night. Skies will be clear for most of the morning, helping to increase instability, which is favorable for thunderstorm development. A cold front along the surface is expected to pass through in the afternoon, along with an upper-level trough, feeding off of the moist air and instability to build thunderstorms this evening. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a slight risk for severe thunderstorms this evening, meaning these storms could become more organized as they develop and lead to damaging wind gusts, isolated hail, and possible tornadoes. Residents should be prepared if any further warnings are issued this evening and have a way to receive weather alerts. Tuesday will see mostly cloudy skies during the morning hours as the cold front continues to make its way toward the east, and by Tuesday evening, skies will begin to clear. This will lead to a slight drop in humidity and will kick off the rest of the week of nice weather. As skies continue to remain clear on Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures will also slowly be increasing into the mid and upper 80s.
