A warm and windy day is in store for southeast Ohio today as a warm front is building and moving to our north. This will bring some gust southerly winds with sustained winds up to 10-15 mph during the afternoon with some gusts around 20 mph. The daytime heating and southerly wind will bring temperatures up into the low 70s. A low pressure system attending the warm front will move through with a weak cold front tonight bringing a slight chance of isolated showers during the evening hours, then increasing clouds throughout the rest of the night. The weak cold front will drop temperatures to the high 30s and gusty northwesterly winds will be behind it. As a result of the front, Tuesday will be somewhat cooler and cloudier, but temperatures will still reach around 50 by midday with moderate (5-10 mph) northerly winds. Skies will continue to become clear overnight brining temperatures down to a chilly 25 F.
The extended forecast looks mild with mostly sunny skies, highs in the low 50s, and lows in the high 20s. Our next chance of rain comes Friday as an active weather pattern looks to be moving through. Check back for more updates on that.
