Forecast Discussion

The combination of a maturing mid-latitude cyclone that will pass over Athens as well as falling heights aloft will allow for intense and gusty winds tonight into tomorrow. Please make sure you have any outdoor decorations secured or taken inside before the evening. Otherwise, the next couple of days up until Thanksgiving will be pleasant, albeit chilly and possibly rainy. This is because of zonal flow from the jet stream as well as high-pressure approaching the region making conditions calm, but cloudy.

On Thanksgiving Day, we might unfortunately be greeted with the possibility of rain in the morning leaving the remainder of the day dry, but cold, as another cold front passes over. Thankfully, so far much of the rain will remain south of Ohio and hopefully won’t dampen any festivities that you may have! Please check back in later in the week to get your up-to-date forecast for Thanksgiving!
