Hazardous Weather Outlook

The first line of showers and storms will move through the area later this morning; the severe threat is minimal for this first round, although the potential for a severe storm cannot be ruled out completely. The next line of storms will arrive later this afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front, where the greatest amount of instability will be present to fire severe storms. Some storms may contain damaging wind gusts and possibly a brief tornado. The severe threat will taper off by this evening, leaving mainly showers and breezy conditions in the vicinity after the frontal passage. Dry and cool weather will be in place Tuesday through Wednesday as high pressure builds into the area. The next system will move in on Thursday, bringing showers to end the work week and into Saturday night.
