Forecast Discussion
High pressure will begin to exit Tuesday afternoon as a low pressure system moves into the Great Lakes and pushes a cold front towards the area. Precipitation chances will begin to increase, with scattered showers and thunderstorms likely Tuesday night into Wednesday as the front arrives Wednesday afternoon. A slight chance of showers will occur on Thursday as moisture from the remnants of Tropical Storm Nicholas may push into the area. Precipitation chances will dissipate by Thursday night; however, continual moisture and daytime heating will likely cause showers and thunderstorms to develop on Friday afternoon and into the evening. Ridging will begin to build back into the area over the weekend, although some shortwave energy may help promote daily afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Above normal temperatures can be expected for the beginning of the work week, with highs in the upper 80s. Highs will then cool down to around the low 80s by Wednesday and Thursday, and gradually increase again heading into the weekend.
