Forecast Discussion
High pressure will reassert itself over the region to begin this week. Clear skies, low humidity, and overall very pleasant conditions will be present today and tomorrow, with temperatures remaining quite seasonable as highs top out in the upper 70s and tonight’s low dips below 50 for the first time this fall. As high pressure shifts east Tuesday night, winds will shift to the south, bringing an influx of warm, moist tropical air from the Gulf for Wednesday. The remnants of Tropical Storm Sally are expected to remain mainly south of the region, likely moving across Alabama, Georgia, and the Carolinas. However, the outermost fringes of these tropical remnants combined with a cold front diving across the region will bring clouds and scattered showers Thursday, followed by the coolest air yet this fall for the weekend.
