Forecast Discussion

Hazardous Weather Outlook

Today will be the last day for above normal temperatures, with highs in the mid 80s. Starting Tuesday, chances for showers and thunderstorms will increase due to moisture pushing in from the south. An upper level trough with an associated low pressure system over Canada will be stationed west of the area throughout the day Tuesday, eventually pushing a cold front through into Wednesday. After Tuesday’s rain showers, the area will have the threat of strong winds and localized flooding under any thunderstorm development that occurs on Wednesday, with rainfall between 1 to 2 inches possible. Severe storms do not look likely at this point, but an isolated one cannot be ruled out. On Thursday, showers will linger as the low pressure shifts to the northeast. Surface high pressure will then begin to build and provide pleasant weather and much cooler temperatures, with highs only reaching into the low 60s.
