Forecast Discussion

Quiet weather will continue to start out the work week thanks to a high pressure positioned south of the area. Winds will be from the SW with gusts up to 20 mph possible. Clouds will increase tonight as a trough approaches from the west and a cold front approaches from the north, bringing the chance for overnight showers and thunderstorms tonight into Tuesday. Strong thunderstorm gusts cannot be ruled out due to elevated instability from the trough and cold front. The front will have shifted south by Wednesday morning which will end all shower and thunderstorm activity by Tuesday evening. Mostly dry weather will be in place as upper level ridging and a surface high pressure build in the Midwest. Highs will remain in the mid 70s through the end of the work week with the next chance for precipitation possible towards the weekend.
