It is very hard to believe it is Christmas morning weather wise given how warm weather conditions are this morning, especially since we have several inches of snow to kick start our Christmas day last year. Warm southerly flow out of Gulf of Mexico is the reason why things are warm. On top of this, we have a disturbance moving through our area today which would end up producing rainfall as it interacts with gulf moisture, and we will likely see 0.25″-0.50″ rainfall as result. A cold front will move through evening hours, associated with line of moderate precipitation, which could also bring couple instances of thunder and lightning as well. Fortunately, severe weather is not expected, but there could be couple instances of gusty winds though. Overall a sloppy and breezy day is in store for us. Temperatures cool down a bit heading into Sunday morning. Sunday will be sunny day as high pressure settles in, but it will be short lived as another system approaches our area by Sunday night into Monday morning with additional rainfall expected in order of 0.50″ amounts looking plausible by Monday night. Another systems moves to our northwest with additional rainfall expected Tuesday into early parts of Wednesday with the potential of 1″+ amounts. If we add up everything, it is very likely that our area could see 2″+ rainfall over next 4-5 days and we will keep an eye out for any flooding potential, though this appears unlikely for now.
