Forecast Discussion

A surface low moving through the Ohio Valley into the Appalachians is going to bring a slurry of different precipitation to the region. As this system is expected to pass to our south, snow is expected to start this morning with patchy freezing rain in spots as outlined in the National Weather Service Hazardous Weather Outlook. This is expected to become all snow after but transition to rain during the daytime as the temperature rises above freezing. Snow will continue to fall through the evening hours and overnight as temperatures fall until eventually changing to all rain tomorrow afternoon. Sunday night is expected to be dry.

High pressure will begin to build in behind the low-pressure system, bringing some clearing and drier weather to the area. Tuesday, chances for rain and snow will return as a strong surface low off of the Rockies is going to make its way up into the region. There is also a chance for some gusty winds associated with this low-pressure system Tuesday and Wednesday.
