Forecast Discussion

Currently, after a trough passage, weak ridging in the upper levels is building, but it won’t last long. A longwave trough is expected to move through the region between tonight and early morning tomorrow. This troughing will bring with it some upper-level support for snow and rain.  Cold temperatures in the evening and early morning will be mostly when we see snow as temperatures will likely get above freezing potentially leading to a rain/snow mix later in the day Sunday and then transitioning back to snow flurries. Thankfully, no significant snow accumulation is expected.

During the forecast period, temperatures look to remain mostly the same throughout however, Tuesday an even colder air mass will be pushed South into our region. Unfortunately, the cold weather has made its return and doesn’t seem to want to part with us. Hopefully, we will start to see a temperature shift that lasts when it changes soon. Don’t forget, Daylight Saving Time starts on Sunday, so don’t forget to adjust your clocks and alarms!

Sunday Night it will be cloudy with a 50% chance of snow flurries. Winds from the W at 5 to 10 mph. Low 29°F
