Forecast Discussion

A ridge of high-pressure is dominant over the region and will continue over the next week for much of the Ohio Valley. Thus, pleasant and dry conditions will persist with northeasterly and easterly flow with comfortable dewpoints in the upper-50s. Moisture may slowly increase by mid-week as a trough from the south will transport some moisture northward. This may bring an isolated or stray shower Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday afternoon. Otherwise, clouds will increase and most will remain dry. However, it may feel a bit humid by the end of the week, but not oppressive like the last few weeks with dewpoints creeping into the low to mid-60s. Lastly, most of the wildfire smoke from Canada is expected to stay near the Great Lakes region, but some haze cannot be ruled out aloft. Check the air quality index for any updates on current air quality conditions.
