Upper level ridging and surface high pressure will continue to bring abundant sunshine and warm temperatures for the next couple days. However, ridging will get pushed off to the east by the end of the work week as a low pressure system approaches from the southwest, bringing chances for showers and thunderstorms as early as Friday night. A few shortwave disturbances are then forecasted to move across the area over the weekend, which will continue to bring unsettled weather throughout the weekend. Cooler temperatures will then filter in after these systems pass, with a gradual warming trend beginning early next week. For now, enjoy the sunshine while it lasts!
