Technical Forecast Discussion
Short-term Forecast (Thursday 08/08/2024 through Saturday 08/10/2024):
Some heat will remain in the region throughout the rest of the work week with daytime high temperatures remaining in the low 90s. Remnants of Debby are continuing on there track northward. Thankfully, much of this system will remain out to its east as it tracks toward the northeast coast. This means we are not at risk for any significant active weather or excessive rainfall but could be provided with any excess moisture providing the chance for some rain showers and potentially even a thunderstorm Thursday into Friday. As this continues to shift eastward out of the region entirely, skies will begin to clear once again and a cold front will shift through Saturday brining temperatures back down into the comfortable low 80s.
Long-term Forecast (Sunday 08/11/2024 through Wednesday 08/14/2024):
Following the passage of the cold front Saturday, temperatures will cool and skies will clear for the rest of the weekend. Surface high pressure will begin to dominate the region once again keeping those skies clear and weather calm. Temperatures will begin to climb throughout the start of the work week into the mid 80s. A fairly uneventful but pleasant start to the week!
