Quiet and chilly weather is expected over the next few days as upper level ridging and surface high pressure build in from the east. High temperatures today will be a bit warmer than yesterday, reaching into the lower 40s. However, a shortwave trough and weak cold front is expected to cross through early Friday morning, with cold air advection bringing Arctic air behind it. This front will also provide chances for a few light snow flurries early on Friday, but this will not create any impacts. This Arctic air ushering in behind the system will drop temperatures down into the teens by Thursday night, with highs only in the 20s on Friday, so make sure to bundle up!

Ridging and high pressure is then expected to rebuild into the area again Friday afternoon, keeping conditions dry and sunny throughout the weekend and gradually warming temperatures back up into the 50s by Sunday. With another troughing pattern likely to begin Sunday, clouds will be on the increase, but temperatures will still remain rather warm for early February into early next week. The next chance for precipitation will occur on Tuesday night into Wednesday as another disturbance is forecasted to affect the area.
