Forecast Discussion

Rain showers should completely dissipate by this morning as a cold front progresses through the area. As of this morning we still remain in the warm sector of a strong low pressure system, which will send high temperatures to near 70 for today – wow! Right along and behind the cold front, however, winds will be quite gusty, with gusts up to 40mph to 50mph at times as there will be a rather tight pressure gradient. From this tight pressure gradient, a Wind Advisory is in effect from Thursday February 9th at 8am until 10pm EST. Make sure to secure any loose outdoor items that you may have and keep two hands on the wheel if driving tomorrow. Winds should gradually relax Thursday night into Friday as the low pressure pushes out of the area, with mainly dry weather expected to close out the work week thanks to building high pressure. The next highest chances for precipitation will occur early next week, with a low pressure system approaching from the south and heading for the Great Lakes.
