Today, clouds and some light fog in the morning will transition to mostly cloudy skies by noon. Temperatures will reach a high of 87 degrees, with winds from the southwest at 5-10 mph. There is a slight risk of severe storms today, as issued by the SPC. An upper level trough will push a cold front from the northwest to the southeast, reaching our area by the late evening. Due to warm temperatures and moist air with dewpoints in the upper 60s, instability will grow, and be able to fire storms along that cold front as it moves through. A few inhibitors make the intensity of this storm questionable, however. Firstly, morning cloud cover will limit the amount of instability, and a few chances for convection ahead of the line will eat up some of the available energy that the later line needs to sustain itself. Timings of these storms are around midnight to 1 am, as the line becomes more broken and scattered as it reaches southeastern Ohio. The greatest risks from these storms are wind gusts and large hail, so be vigilant during these hours to be inside and aware of any alerts issued as the storms roll through. Temperatures overnight will reach a low of 64 degrees, with winds shifting to the west following the passage of the front. Cloud cover will remain somewhat broken after the storms.

Tomorrow will be the first day in what seems to be a longer pattern of sustained calm, with temperatures reaching a high of 83 degrees. Partly cloudy skies in the morning will see increasing clouds by the afternoon, with winds at around 10-15 mph from the west-northwest. These conditions are expected to persist into the evening, with clouds thinning to clear skies after midnight. A low of 58 degrees and winds from the north-northwest will make for a quiet night. For the weekend, temperatures will climb slightly to the mid to upper 80s, with partly cloudy skies remaining for several days.
