As high pressure remains dominant in our region, temperatures will rise up into the low 70s over the next several days. With clear skies tonight, we expect that low temperature to drop below freezing. Dry conditions remain throughout the rest of the week, but looking into early next week, a shortwave trough is expected to push out this high-pressure system. This trough is anticipated to bring a surface low that will give us the chance for showers to kick off next week. Thankfully, the airmass brought in by this low pressure does not look to be as potent as the one that has brought us subfreezing temperatures back to back, but it will still be chilly after the passage of this cold front next week.
