Forecast Discussion

Hazardous Weather Outlook

High pressure over the area will provide dry weather for today; however, there will be plenty of cloud cover before the arrival of a strong cold front approaching from the west. This will bring the chance for widespread showers and thunderstorms mainly beginning Friday night through Saturday as the front moves through. There is a marginal risk of severe weather for our area, with damaging winds, hail, and heavy downpours possible with thunderstorms that do form. Thunderstorms are more likely to develop Friday night due to the forcing along the cold front as it makes it’s way through. Precipitation chances will diminish after the frontal passage by Saturday evening, along with a drastic drop in temperatures. High pressure will dominate once again for the extended period, providing pleasant weather and highs in the mid 60s.
