The low pressure system that is bringing this big pocket of rain is moving through this morning and bringing us some steady to heavy rain at times and has already brought us around 1.3″ of rain and could bring us a little more as this starts to move out later this morning. After the rain moves out, clouds will persist in the area as this system slowly moves away. We could also see some isolated thunderstorms later this afternoon and evening. With the clouds and rain, our high today will only top out at 72 degrees. Tonight and maybe even this evening we could see some clearing and this will bring our temperature down to around 60 degrees tonight. Tomorrow should be dry with mostly cloudy skies as this system is off to our west slowly moving away but still bringing us some clouds. Finally, Friday night there is a chance for some light rain showers to impact the area but it’s a very low chance. As we head into this weekend and next week, high pressure will build back into the region and bring us dry and somewhat mild temperatures for next week and maybe more. With the recent rain, our drought may improve a little bit but will most likely rebound and possibly worsen as we see dry conditions once again.
