Special Weather Statement

After a weekend that brought some rather unpleasant weather and fall-like temperatures to the area, we are in for a warm-up for most of this week. After the cold front that brought us rain and a big drop in temperatures passed, we are starting to see high-pressure building in behind it and a ridging pattern aloft. Temperatures will likely get into the high 70s and possibly the low 80s on Wednesday, with clear skies and dry conditions. This also means that for the next couple of days, we will have elevated fire danger as per the National Weather Service Special Weather Statement, which is for increased fire danger today due to very dry conditions and gusty winds.  Relative humidity values will likely drop into the low 20s and winds will be gusty at times. Outdoor burning is discouraged, and if doing so exercise caution to ensure safety and reduce the risk of starting a wildfire.

Heading into the weekend, a deep upper-level trough is going to make its way overhead bringing another low-pressure system passing by the region. This low-pressure system will bring us another cold front sometime on Friday which will give us our next round of active weather.
