Forecast Discussion

Cloudy skies will exist throughout the morning hours and much of Tuesday as the anticipated cold front approaches from the WNW later this evening. The extensive cloud cover and any isolated early afternoon showers may hinder the high temperature as it slowly climbs near 80. Shower and thunderstorm activity will greatly increase into the mid-late evening hours (6-10 pm) as the front looks to finally pass through overnight and into early Wednesday. Some lingering clouds may exist into early Wednesday morning in before the front drops further southeast of Appalachia. Conditions will greatly dry out and clear up for the remainder of Wednesday and into late week as high pressure settles into the area. Temperatures will remain fairly consistent and seasonable as highs remain in the upper 70s near 80.
