Forecast Discussion

An amplified upper-level ridge is to thank for the great weather we have had recently and will continue to have through tomorrow. The surface high-pressure system aided subsidence from the synoptic setup has pushed all clouds out of the region and left us with nice sunny skies and dry conditions. Temperatures are also expected to continue climbing slightly into the low 60s by Thursday. These temperatures are above average for this time of year, so it is feeling very spring-like out as you may have noticed! Unfortunately, the temperatures may stay on the warmer side but we will start to see some rain.

Thursday, a low-pressure system is going to be approaching the Great Lakes bringing a cold front down to us. This system is expected to be weakening by the time it reaches us, however, rain ahead of the cold front is still likely and will most likely continue through Saturday until the cold front passes. After the passage, we are likely looking at a slight drop in temperature, but thankfully this system is not nearly as potent as the cold blast from January.
