Today, SE Ohio is under a marginal risk for thunderstorms as the longwave upper-level trough persists overhead, and a small shortwave moves into the region, providing enough lift to trigger scattered storms starting from late morning and continuing through the evening. While these showers are not anticipated to turn severe, a few lightning strikes may occur, given the MLCAPE values reaching a maximum of around 1200 J/kg. Wednesday will see a few isolated pop-up showers during the day due to daytime heating and instability build-up, with the possibility of some stronger showers overnight. Both Tuesday and Wednesday will experience temperatures peaking in the mid-80s.

Moving towards Thursday and Friday, the region can expect lighter rain throughout the day as another upper-level trough enters. However, Thursday night might see more organized systems as the surface cold front moves through, which has triggered the Storm Prediction Center to issue a marginal risk for thunderstorms for SE Ohio. Additionally, models currently indicate that the bulk of the rain should remain to the south and east of our area. As we approach the weekend, Saturday looks promising with dry weather and partly cloudy skies, accompanied by high temperatures in the low-80s, making it an excellent time to enjoy outdoor activities.
