A low-pressure system providing the area with warm, humid air continues to move through until early Thursday, where a cold front finally pushes through. Until then, expect highs in the 80s with a few rounds of scattered showers and thunderstorms, some of which could be strong with gusty winds. A Flood Watch has also been issued beginning at 11am this morning through this evening for the threat of localized flash flooding caused by these scattered heavy downpours. Additionally, as the cold front approaches, so will an increased chance of severe weather. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Marginal Risk (level 1 of 5) of severe weather for tomorrow, with the main threat of damaging winds coming later in the day, into the overnight hours. A warming trend then begins shortly afterwards as high pressure becomes dominant. Temperatures will soar into the low-90s by the start of the weekend with mostly sunny skies.
