A mostly nice week is in store for Athens. After a weaker low-pressure system made its way through our area last night with some precipitation, clouds will linger around for most of the day. Tomorrow, as a strong ridging pattern sets up, high surface pressure will dominate for the remainder of the week until we start to head into the weekend. It will be perfect weather to get outdoors and enjoy, as we expect warm high temperatures and clear skies!

Later in the week, we are expecting a shortwave trough to move through the area, bringing a chance for some showers and thunderstorms on Friday and chances for showers over the rest of the weekend. We will still have highs in the upper 70s for the weekend, but you will definitely want to bring an umbrella or rain jacket if you go outside.
