Forecast Discussion

High pressure is situated directly south of the area, which will maintain dry, but hot and humid conditions through Thursday. Today, the heat will continue to batter the region as another record-seeking high climbs into the lower 90s by the late afternoon. Some cloud cover may filter in for Wednesday as a stationary front widely extends throughout the lower Midwest and along northern Ohio. A surface low will finally break this pattern down as it pushes through the lower Great Lakes and drags its cold front through SE Ohio by late afternoon on Thursday. Moisture parameters are currently weak with this frontal passage, which will limit the front’s effects to an increase in cloud cover and/or little precipitation. This frontal passage will introduce much cooler and drier weather for Friday and the start to the weekend as temperatures will finally begin to feel fall-like.
