Forecast Discussion
Prominent upper-level ridging and a high pressure that resides just south of the region will offer warmer, but dry weather for Today. Additionally, clear and sunny skies will be in place with a southerly shift to the winds by mid-afternoon. This flow will advect warmer temperatures and low-level moisture back into the area as the high temperatures significantly climb near 90. Dewpoints will continue to rise from the mid-60s to the upper 60s through the remainder of Tuesday and into midweek, generating these humid conditions. A shower or thunderstorm will become possible, but isolated Wednesday and Thursday as the environment will remain very unstable. A strengthening disturbance out of the Great Plains will quickly introduce its warm front on Friday, which will generate a better risk for showers and thunderstorms. These unseasonably hot temperatures will pursue through Friday, in before an approaching cold front from the west passes through early Saturday, which will suggest a slight cool off.
