Forecast Discussion

Areas of fog this morning will give way to an increase in cloud cover by this afternoon as a surface low pushes a warm front across the region. With this warm front passing, an increase in warm, moist air is expected in the warm sector, leading to increased shower and thunderstorm activity beginning tonight and lasting through Wednesday. There is a marginal risk that one or two of these storms could be severe, with the main threat being an isolated damaging wind gust. Otherwise, showers and storms are likely to remain in the forecast through Thursday as the surface low and its associated cold front drift slowly across the region. After the front finally pulls away, however, much cooler, drier, more pleasant air moves in to replace it, with highs only in the mid-upper 70s, lows in the lower 50s, and very low humidity courtesy of a continental polar air mass from Canada.
