Forecast Discussion

High pressure east of the area will bring warmer weather this week. The frontal boundary from the cold front that has moved through lifted north as a warm front, bringing in those warm temperatures. Through Thursday, expect to have generally quiet, hot weather, with high temperatures near the 90s. This quiet weather will be caused by a strengthening ridge off the eastern seaboard, and an upper level trough closing off as it moves southward today. This will bring hot weather and higher humidity. Tonight will be dry as the ridging will hold east, with mainly clear skies and chances for fog to form during the early hours of Wednesday morning. Ridging will continue to hold through Saturday before breaking down into an upper level trough, which will drive a cold front through, increasing the chance for showers and thunderstorms into the weekend.
