Forecast Discussion

A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect for southeast Ohio until 11:00 am EST with wind chills reaching as low as 10 below zero. Make sure to bundle up for the morning commute! Clear skies are allowing for temperatures to drop as a strong arctic high settles in the area for Wednesday. Highs will reach the mid-20s, but wind gusts can make it feel like in the single digits to teens. However, clouds will begin increasing Wednesday night into Thursday as another system approaches.

A strong, upper-level negatively tilted trough is expected to form Thursday into Friday associated with a deepening low-pressure system at the surface. Along with the system, there is ample low to mid-level moisture bringing a chance for snow. Snow accumulations can reach as high as 1 to 3 inches. However, this can change as the system progresses depending on the track and intensity. Once the system moves out, upper-level ridging and high-pressure settles in for the weekend, but will remain cold.
