Hazardous Weather Outlook (Today-Saturday)
A low pressure system associated with a midlatitude cyclone is making its way through our region. Starting last night, clouds began to increase into today where the warm front will pass through, causing a slight spike in temperatures and some rain as well. After the warm front passes today, tonight we can expect to see some thunderstorm development, with the chance for some isolated severe weather. These storms will be brought on by a cold front, which will keep skies cloudy. This low pressure system will begin to slide its way up into the Great Lakes region and leave skies cloudy and rainy for the rest of the week.
The persistent chance of rain will be the culprit for some potential flooding this weekend. Ensure that you monitor areas that are prone to flooding and be prepared for some unexpected road closures. There is a marginal risk for both severe weather and excessive rainfall, so stay weather aware!
