Forecast Discussion
A weak high pressure system will continue to linger over the area for the next two days, until a low pressure system crosses to the north Thursday night. We will see comfortable and pleasant conditions through Thursday afternoon, until the passage of the system and associated cold front brings significantly colder temperatures and rain for the start of the weekend. The greatest chance for rain this week will be late Thursday afternoon into Friday morning. The area could see between a half to three-fourths andinch by Friday afternoon, with a very slight risk for snow to join the mix in higher elevations. A ridging pattern aloft will create calm conditions for the area Saturday until yet another troughing pattern passes late Saturday night into Sunday. The trough and associated cold front will bring another chance for precipitation Sunday, with rain during the day and the first substantial threat for rain-snow mix this season later in the evening.
