Technical Forecast Discussion

Short-term Forecast (Thursday 10/24/2024 through Saturday 10/26/2024):

Wednesday late evening, a cold front quickly swept through the region brining a few scattered clouds into the overnight hours and putting a slight pause in our warming trend. Unfortunately, this frontal system lacked in moisture necessary to produce any much needed precipitation for the region continuing the drought conditions. Daytime high temperatures Thursday will return to more seasonable conditions in the low 60s. Following the passage of this front, high pressure will begin to build back in allowing another warming trend to begin at the end of the week. This will be short-lived as another frontal system will sweep through Friday, increasing cloud coverage throughout the day into the evening and potentially bringing the chance for some rain showers into the overnight hours. High pressure will then settle back into the region.

Long-term Forecast (Sunday 10/27/2024 through Wednesday 10/30/2024):

As high pressure will continue to remain over the region throughout the long-term forecast, another warming trend will begin. Sunday will be cooler in temperature due to northerly winds but, temperatures will gradually increase throughout the start of the week as an upper-level ridge settles in over the area. Dry conditions, clear skies, and temperature October conditions will round-off the month with an uneventful forecast!
