A low-pressure system is expected to move in today and stall for the next several days. Rain chances begin today but increase overnight tonight and into tomorrow with widespread showers expected. Up to an inch of rain is expected for Athens County from this system through Friday, but areas south and east of Athens should expect up to two and a half inches of rain. The low-pressure system will move out of the area Friday and high pressure will begin to build back in allowing for the skies to clear for the weekend. Afternoon temperatures will remain mostly in the upper-70s and low-80s throughout the rest of the work week and into the weekend, except for Thursday where temperatures will peak in the low 70s.
